This map shows predicted levels of life satisfaction across London.
Life satisfaction is well-recognised as an important element of our overall wellbeing. It is used in the UK and other countries as an important indicator of wellbeing.
There is evidence that satisfaction with life overall relates to satisfaction with the area people live in, people who are dissatisfied with their local area also report low life satisfaction.

How the map works
Output Areas are coloured on a scale to indicate predicted life satisfaction.
Darker turquoise indicates higher levels of belonging.
The results are taken from the response to a single question from the Understanding Society Survey:
